How will conservation planning shape the future of Georgia’s built environment?

The use of land is guided by local policy for the built environment (zoning, transportation, etc.) and resource protection (wildlife, soil, water).  However, the cumulative impacts of land use largely result from external influences, such as economics, technology, and demographics.

In this presentation, we will review how the last 50 years of land use have impacted our state. Using a dataset that gives a broad perspective, we will explore how conservation planning influences regional and landscape-scale development of the built environment.
