“Electrical Requirements of the 2015 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1-2013”

DESCRIPTION: This course is a review of the electrical requirements of the 2015 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1-2013.  Topics include lighting, lighting control, air barriers, appliance efficiency, automatic receptacle control, electrical submetering, and energy monitoring.  Also covered are helpful tips and guidelines for the design, installation, and inspection of these systems in compliance with the code.

LEARNING OBJECTIIVES: 

  • Identification and analysis of energy conservation compliance paths outlined by the 2015 IECC.
  • Understanding methods and requirements for automatic receptacle control and energy monitoring in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1-2013.
  • Identification and analysis of the impacts and requirements for daylight responsive controls per the 2015 IECC.
  • How to perform lighting load calculations and detailed review of lighting control requirements of the 2015 IECC
